WHAT WE BELIEVE / STATEMENT OF FAITH
Dominion Outreach Centre takes the Bible as its all-sufficient source of faith and practice, and subscribes to the historic creeds of the universal church. We emphasize Christ as Saviour, Healer, Baptizer in the Holy Spirit and soon-coming King.
We believe the Bible, as originally given to be without error, the fully inspired and infallible Word of God and the supreme and final authority in matters of faith and conduct.
We believe that the Godhead exists co-equally and co-eternally in three persons; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and that these are one God, sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.
The Father exists eternally as the Creator of Heaven and Earth, the Giver of the Law, to whom all things will be subjected, so that He may be in all. We believe that He is a loving, caring Father who longs for a relationship with His children. Knowing the Father-heart of God is a key to breakthrough and freedom.
We believe in the true and proper deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, His real and complete humanity, in His sinless life, in His authoritative teaching, in His atoning sacrifice for us through His blood shed, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His heavenly intercession and His second advent to receive His Church. We believe that Jesus is the only way and whereby mankind can be saved.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son and the necessity of His work in the conviction of sin, repentance, regeneration, and sanctification and that the believer is also promised an outpouring of power as a gift of Jesus through the baptism of the Holy Spirit with signs following. Through this outpouring, the believer is empowered for ministry.
We believe in the necessity for salvation of repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by which the sinner is pardoned and accepted as righteous in God's sight. This justification is imputed by the grace of God because of the atoning work o fChrist, is received by faith alone and is evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit and a holy life.
We believe in the baptism of believers by immersion in water in obedience to the command of Christ and the commemoration of Christ's death by the observance of the Lord's Supper until His return.
THE UNIVERSAL CHURCH
All who are born again are members of the universal Church, which is the Body and Bride of Christ.
THE LOCAL CHURCH
The local church is a body of believers in Christ who have joined together to function as a part of the universal Church. The local church is ordained by God and provides a context in which believers corporately worship God, observe the ordinances of the Church, are instructed in the faith and are equipped for the evangelization of the world.
